Art for Social Change

 Art for Social Change

created in 2016 by a 7th grader Stefani Thompson
using what seems to be only color pencils and a paper canvas

In this poster we are shown a metaphor (forgot the actual term), the text states Don't FALL for drugs as we are given a scenario where a person is falling off a cliff into a pile of drugs. There isn't much bright colors except for the bold red for the text as this is a serious situation where things shouldn't be bright.

Research:
What made me research this type of poster was when I was thinking about a community goal for this assignment and I thought about how many students use drugs whether it's for a logical reason or just to do it. The artist was a 7th grader Stefani Thompson who won 1st Place in the 12-14 year old drug awareness division at the county level for the 2016 Knights of Columbus Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest

Doodle New

Doodle

For my doodle sketches I decided to make my theme robots. The reason for this is because the first doodle robot with the cape was made during some free time I had in which it was inspired by an old cartoon I recently rewatched in which there is a robot that wheres a jacket and cape. I also remembered watching transformers and doodle some character designs I remember.

TIME

TIME

In our Graphic Design class we were instructed to create rough sketches of our ideas for a clock that we will be making throughout the week. These are 2 simple ones I've created.

In this simple sketch since we aren't allowed to use standard numbers
I've decided to use simple Roman numerals.

In this sketch since the Super Bowl wasn't to long ago, I've decided to create a clock which each number is represented by the number of super bowl wins each logo of the team has. For example number 12 is shown as the patriots logo and the steelers logo which both have 6 Super Bowl wins to add up 12.
For this sketch concept is a chemistry clock that uses the elements atomic number to represent the time.
I thought of this as I was looking through some old notebooks I had in which I saw the periodic table.

Product Launch

 Signature Cookies

My goal was to make people smile and in order to accomplish that goal, I've decided to create a company that will do just that. I've created a cookie company. The cookie company was designed to not only be suitable for children for all to enjoy. Our mascot is a cookie-man to draw attention to the younger audience but we also have big sponsors to help bring the older audience such as Terry Crews, whom as endorsed our cookies. We went with 3 colors for our actual design but we needed to add more to stand out. Our main colors were pink, brown, white to resemble the 3 milk flavors; chocolate, strawberry and regular milk.

For our webpage I've decided to add a few more colors to our palette in order to have the page pop out but we also added a few pictures to express what our cookies can do for everyone that has a bite. The slogan I've come up with, "Cookie. Milk. Chill." is referring to taking a bite of the cookie as well as a sip of milk then just relax and chill as the flavors sink in.

Mugscape

Mug
Mug

In this assignment we created 3 different designs using only a couple of colors from a pallet we chose. The colors in the pallet I picked has magenta, yellow, orange, and lime green. We created these   to add on a new special canvas such as this mug while using Adobe Illustrator.

My first couple rough drafts:

v2

In version 2, I went with a brighter background color for the shapes to make the other images stand out

v3

In this version, I created more shapes to use in the background to add more color to the image
v1

In my first version I was experimenting with all the colors looking for the best matches
